What is an Early College High School?

An Early College High School (ECHS) is a program designed to provide students with the opportunity to earn a high school diploma while simultaneously completing an associate degree or up to two years of transferable college credit. Through a partnership with a higher education institution, students take a combination of high school and college courses, gaining valuable exposure to the rigor and expectations of college-level work.
Unlike dual enrollment programs—where students attend a traditional high school while taking additional college courses—ECHS students integrate college coursework into their daily schedules. Many college classes fulfill high school graduation requirements, reducing the need for traditional high school classes and streamlining the pathway to postsecondary achievement.
At iSchool University Park Early College High School, this innovative model allows students to challenge themselves academically while saving time and money, graduating better prepared for college and career success.
